MUC Connect is a speaker series started by the Museum of Uintah County in partnership with local archaeologists. MUC Connect occurs on the third Thursday of each month, and some months we will have extra!

Ready for a “supreme” night of trivia? The Slice of History Trivia Night is back! Whether you’re a local history expert or just here for the pepperoni, we want you there.
This event is designed for ages 18 and up. Great food, better company, and plenty of prizes await!

Do you share a birthday with either of these former first ladies? Our summer hours start this week! We will be open Monday to Thursday from 9 am until 6 pm, Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. We will remain closed on Sundays. We’re joining museums and community spaces across the U.S. to collect wishes for the future of America at the nation’s 250th anniversary. Stop by our Wish Wall and add your voice to history! Bringing War Home: Object Stories, Memory, and Modern War will be on display from May 29th until July 31st. This traveling exhibit from Utah State University shares stories of Utah's veterans and military families. Whether you’re a local history expert or just here for the pepperoni, we want you there. The Slice of History Trivia Night will take place on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 pm. This event is designed for ages 18 and up. Great food, better company, and plenty of prizes await! Did you know that the cow catcher we have on display is actually from the Uintah Railway?! It was also featured on the show American Pickers in 2014. Come visit us at the museum to learn more about this cow catcher and the Uintah Railway! We will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26th. We are still collecting your recipes! The Uinta Basin Recipe Collection: A Semiquincentennial Collection of Recipes and Reminiscences from the Families of the Uinta Basin will be available to view online before America's Potluck on July 5th. To have your recipe in this collection, please submit it to the Google Form by June 5th. You can fill out the form using the link below or by visiting our website and going to the community page! Dolley Madison was born on this day in 1768, and was the wife of the fourth president, James Maidson. She is one of the most beloved first ladies and the one who set the standard for what being first lady meant well into the 20th century. The previous three presidents had only met with one political party at a time to keep things calm. Her social functions were well attended by both political parties at the same time, which introduced the concept of bipartisan cooperation.
