The Quilter's on the Edge Annual Quilt Show is here until the end of August! Have you been in to vote for your favorite quilt yet? We will be closed on Thursday, August 13th to install Voices and Votes: Democracy in America. We are so excited to have this exhibit on display for everyone to see. To keep both our patrons and the exhibit safe while we install, we have decided to close the day we are installing. Could one person do these tasks? Yes. But is it more fun to make everything a two person job? Absolutely! Teamwork makes the dream work 😝 We may also want iced coffee, but we'd love for you to attend our opening reception for Voices and Votes: Democracy in America on August 15 from 10 am to 3 pm! Come to the Museum of Uintah County at 10 am for a ribbon-cutting and opening remarks, then stay a while for live music, games, and guided tours! We have some new arrivals in the museum gift shop! Edith Roosevelt was born on this day in 1861. She served as first lady from 1901 to 1909 as the wife of 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt. She was well-educated and studied many subjects. Edith could have pursued a career; however, she chose to dedicate her life to caring for her family. She supported women's rights and those who chose to live differently from her. Exciting news! The annual quilt show is up until the end of August! Come vote for your favorite quilt The Smithsonian is Coming! Join us for these fun events this August that relate to Voices and Votes: Democracy in America! All of the following events will take place at the Museum of Uintah County, located at 155 E Main Street in Vernal. The marketing girl keeps everyone on their toes! Especially when you are trying to work, and she wants you to film a reel with her 😝
