Slice of History: Trivia Night

Ready for a “supreme” night of trivia? The Slice of History Trivia Night is back! Whether you’re a local history expert or just here for the pepperoni, we want you there.
This event is designed for ages 18 and up. Great food, better company, and plenty of prizes await!

Utah in Layers: Faux Stained-Glass Craft Night

June 30th at 6:00 PM

Join us for history and hands-on creativity as we recreate the symbols of Utah through light and color. Using a ‘stained-glass’ tissue paper technique, participants will craft their own window-ready versions of the Utah State Flag. Come learn about the history of the state flag, its role as a state symbol, and create your own!
Utah in Layers: A Faux Stained-Glass Craft Night is sponsored by Utah Historical Society and all materials will be provided!

Rachel Jackson was born on this day in 1767. She was married to an abusive man named Lewis Robards, with whom she was later divorced. She married Andrew Jackson in 1791. It was later revealed that her divorce was not finalized at the time she married Jackson, so they had to be remarried in 1794. The presidential campaign in 1828 was particularly cruel, claiming Rachel was a bigamist, which was a severe assault on any well-respected woman of her day. After her husband was elected president, she prepared to leave for Washington for his inauguration. Unfortunately, she suffered a heart attack and died on December 22, 1828. She passed away before she could officially become first lady. We are closed today, June 15th, in observance of Juneteenth. Our regular summer hours will resume tomorrow, June 16th! She was the wife of 25th president, William McKinley, and served as first lady from 1897 to 1901. Ida McKinley gave birth to two daughters, who had both passed away very young. After that, she also suffered a blunt force trauma injury to her head and neck, which is suspected to have initiated delayed-onset epilepsy. We are participating in the Uintah County America 250 Pin Challenge! Getting our pin is simple; all you have to do is come in and add to our Wish Wall! We are participating in Utah Civic Season!
